Edinburgh Futures Resource Hub Activities

All our activities are drop-in so just come along as often or as little as you like!!

Cooking & Breakfast Club: Relaxed sessions suitable for anyone.

Healthy Eating: Come and learn to cook food that is both tasty and healthy!

Ready Steady Cook:  Even more important than being able to follow a recipe is knowing how to make yourself a meal using those random three things you have left in your fridge and cupboard.  It’s cheaper and means you don’t have to go to the shop.  We provide a random selection of ingredients and come up with a dish together.

Baking: Come along and follow an easy recipe to make delicious baked goods, including cakes, pastries and more!

Computer Drop In & IT Skills: You can use this time for whatever you like, anything from learning how to turn a computer on and off, to social media and job applications.  You can drop in to use the computers at the Hub most times when we’re open, but at the Computer Drop In there will always be someone around to give you a hand.

Need a hand with CV’s or job applications? Come along to the computer drop in!

Physical Activity: Come and get involved in various physical activities, including: dancing, easy follow-along exercises and more.

Walk in the Park: This is exactly what is says on the tin!  Relaxed and flexible - we can go to the Meadows, or to Holyrood Park, or wherever you fancy that is possible in two hours.

____________________________________________

Music Group: The music group is really relaxed – you can learn some basic guitar chords, or come for a sing, or just to listen.  In the arts and crafts group we make simple crafts for you to take away and give as gifts or decorate your home.

____________________________________________

Arts and Crafts: The arts and crafts group is perfect for anyone who wants to relax and have fun. We will be doing various arts and crafts including painting, jewellery making and embroidery! You don’t need any experience to get involved.

____________________________________________

Mindfulness: Come and take 20-30 minutes for yourself in the guided mindfulness and meditation group. Learn some mindfulness skills you can take away and use any time you need some time to decompress!

Financial Skills and Goal Setting: Come along and set some goals! These can include, financial, tenancy or social goals. Learn budgeting skills and how to manage your money better. This can include how to buy and cook cheaper (but still delicious!) meals and how to budget for essential bills.

_____________________________________________

Film Club: Come and watch a film on the Hub’s projector followed by a discussion about the film and what you learned from it!

______________________________________________

Women’s Group: Join the women-only group for a chat and various activities!

The Resource Hub Text List

Did you know that we send texts out at 4pm every day to say what’s on at the Hub the next day?

If you’d like to be on this list just pass your name and number over to us and you can start receiving the texts.
