Our GP team consists of four part time GPs, and we also are joined each year by a visiting GP fellow (academic GP).

All our GPs have a specialist interest in providing healthcare for patients who are experiencing homelessness, and all have additional expertise in mental health problems and substance misuse problems. 

Our staff:

A multidisciplinary team working together to assess and support the needs of people experiencing homelessness who have complex needs, providing and coordinating care across outreach, primary and secondary care, social care and housing services. All staff:

· Have been recruited through City of Edinburgh Council, NHS Lothian and partner agency processes.

· Undertake an initial induction and orientation process that prepares and supports them to deliver services safely and effectively and includes the principles of trauma-informed practice.

· Are clear about their duties and responsibilities

· Operate within a workplace culture that supports self-care and wellbeing

· Have access to professional development opportunities that recognise individual learning needs, service objectives and organisational goals.

· Receive regular supervision (including clinical supervision where appropriate)

· Have regular access to reflective practice that meets their needs and goals

· Have access to debriefing /additional support following a crisis/incident

· Experiencing work related stress are supported appropriately and have choices regarding the support they can access
